Case Description
In Moscow on September 26, 2014, 29-year-old local resident and former police officer Yevgeny Chistov was detained. He was accused of treason. According to the investigation, Chistov passed secret information to the CIA for 3 years in 2011, which he learned while serving. The defendant in the case was placed in a pre-trial detention center. On November 12, 2015, the Moscow Regional Court found Yevgeny Chistov guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in a strict regime colony. January 27, 2016, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation upheld the sentence.
