Case Description
In Novosibirsk, no later than September 2023 (the exact date is unknown), a criminal case was opened against 27-year-old former leader of the Novosibirsk Skinhead Unity, Yevgeny Breslavsky, for repeated demonstration and propaganda of Nazi symbols. Breslavsky was sentenced in 2017 for illegal trafficking of narcotic substances. According to the prosecution's version, while serving his sentence in the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia's Correctional Colony No. 18 in the Novosibirsk Region, he demonstrated his tattoos with Nazi symbols. For a similar offense, Breslavsky was fined in August 2022. 14 February 2024, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Novosibirsk found Yevgeny Breslavsky guilty and sentenced him to 2 years and 7 months in a strict regime penal colony. By the time he received a new sentence, he had already served the previous one. When imposing a new sentence, the time spent in custody was credited to him, and his final sentence amounted to 2 years and 4 months in a strict regime colony. July 5, 2024, the Novosibirsk Regional Court upheld the sentence. No later than December 2024, a criminal case was opened against Breslavsky, who was serving his sentence in IK-18, on charges of calling for terrorism. According to the investigation, justifying and propagating nationalist ideology, he publicly demonstrated his tattoos in the form of Nazi symbols among the convicts. In addition, he called on convicts to organize armed attacks on military enlistment offices and carry out explosions at military memorials in Novosibirsk after serving their sentences. 29 January 2025, the 2nd Eastern Military District Court found Yevgeny Breslavsky guilty and sentenced him to 3 years and 8 months in a strict regime penal colony. April 29, 2025, the Appellate Military Court changed the verdict, details are also unknown.
