Case Description
On March 15, 2024, in the city of Lytkarino in the Moscow region, on the first day of voting in the 2024 Putin elections, 46-year-old local resident Eugeniu Belinsky poured paint into the ballot box. According to the prosecution, he acted on instructions received by phone from scammers who threatened him with a loan. A criminal case was opened against the man for obstructing the exercise of electoral rights and the work of the election commission, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or an organized group." June 5, 2024, the Lytkarinsky City Court of the Moscow Region found Evgeniy Belinsky guilty and sentenced him to 1 year of imprisonment suspended. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
