Case Description
In Kursk, at the end of August 2024, a criminal case was opened against 36-year-old dance teacher Elena Yarizheva. She was accused of public calls for extremist activity and public justification of terrorism. The reason for the accusation was a repost in Telegram, allegedly made by Yarizheva. The content of the publication is unknown. The measure of restraint is unknown. February 11, 2025, the 2nd Western Military Court found Elena Yarizheva guilty and sentenced her to 5 years in prison. On July 31, 2025, the Appellate Military Court left the verdict unchanged.
