Case Description
In Kemerovo, on the night of October 28-29, 2022, a 59-year-old local resident, pensioner Elena Sharova, threw a bottle with an incendiary mixture at the military enlistment office building in the Zavodsky district of the city. The bottle did not reach the door and fell on the porch. As a result, no one was injured, and the resulting fire covering an area of 0.2 square meters was extinguished by firefighters. Sharov was immediately detained. At the interrogation, the pensioner reported that she had become a victim of fraudsters. In mid-October, an unknown person called the woman, identifying himself as a law enforcement officer. He said that unknown individuals are trying to seize her financial assets. As a result, the pensioner took out a loan and within a few days transferred more than 2 million to the specified details. rubles. After that, the scammers were able to convince the woman to participate in the 'operation to catch the criminal' who had stolen her money. Sharov was accused of committing a terrorist act. The court sent her to a pre-trial detention center. In February 2023, Sharov was released from the pre-trial detention center. Probably at the same time, the case was reclassified, softening the charges—from terrorism to attempted destruction of another's property. On September 17, 2024, the Zavodsky District Court of Kemerovo found Elena Sharova guilty and sentenced her to 2 years of probation with a probation period of 3 years.
