Case Description
In Makiyivka, the occupied part of the Donetsk region, no later than March 2025, a 42-year-old local resident, a citizen of Ukraine with forced Russian citizenship, Elena Nikolayeva, was detained. She was accused of financing terrorism. According to the version of Russian law enforcement, on October 3, 2024, a woman asked her acquaintance to transfer money to an account intended for collecting funds to purchase UAVs for the banned in Russia organization "Azov. The defendant in the case was placed in a pre-trial detention center for the duration of the investigation. On September 10, 2025, the Southern District Military Court found Elena Nikolaeva guilty and sentenced her to 9 years in a general regime correctional colony.
