Case Description
In Kaliningrad on the evening of August 2, 2024, 53-year-old nurse Elena Nikolaenkova was detained right at her workplace. A search was conducted in her house, after which she was taken for questioning at the Investigative Committee. Nikolaenkov was accused of publicly "justifying terrorism. The reason for the criminal prosecution was a comment in a Telegram chat for Masya fans, in which the woman expressed support for the person fighting on the side of Ukraine and the Russian Volunteer Corps, which is recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. According to law enforcement, in April 2024, against the backdrop of raids in the Belgorod region, Nikolaenkova wrote a post on Telegram with the words: "It's no longer happening quietly, but quite briskly. RDK are handsome guys. Before the election of a preventive measure, the woman was placed in a temporary detention center. On August 3, 2024, the Central District Court of Kaliningrad chose a measure of restraint for Novikova in the form of detention. January 13, 2025, the Baltic Fleet Military Court found Elena Nikolaenkova guilty and sentenced her to a fine of 60 thousand. rubles. She was released from custody in the courtroom under a written undertaking not to leave. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
