Then a 'detective' contacted her on WhatsApp and said that the scammers were hiding in the military enlistment office, and it was necessary to help the security forces 'smoke them out' of there. Initially, the pensioner was accused of "attempting a terrorist attack by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, but the charge was later mitigated — it was reclassified as an attempt to destroy someone else's property by a generally dangerous method. For the duration of the investigation, the woman was placed under house arrest. On June 3, 2024, the Yelets City Court of the Lipetsk Region found Elena Chernykh guilty and sentenced her to 1.5 years of imprisonment with a probationary period of 1.5 years. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
