Marchenko Eldar Mikael Ogly

In Moscow on 1 August 2024, FSB officers burst into the home of 52-year-old sports management lecturer at the RMA Business Academy, Eldar Marchenko. Without providing any documents, security forces searched the house, after which they took the teacher for interrogation to the FSB Directorate on Lubyanka. On the way, he was tortured with electricity, forcing him to sign a confession to working for Ukrainian special services. The next day, on August 2, employees of the OMVD of Russia for the Meshchansky district of Moscow fabricated an administrative offense report against Marchenko under the article on petty hooliganism. According to the report of police officers, Marchenko was swearing on the street and refused to show his passport to the police. On the same day, Judge Maria Smirnova of the Meshchansky District Court sentenced Marchenko to 15 days in jail. Immediately after the end of the first arrest, on August 17, the teacher was again arrested for 15 days, already under Part 1 of the same article. The third arrest — 10 days — Marchenko was sentenced on September 2. In both cases, he allegedly swore again in a public place, near the Sakharovo Temporary Detention Center for Foreign Nationals. On September 11, 2024, as he was leaving the TsVSIg, the man was detained again and taken to the GSU of the Investigative Committee. Marchenko was accused of committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, causing significant damage. He was charged with collaborating with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The details of the charges are unknown. The next day, on September 12, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow chose Marchenko a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
