Case Description
On June 13, 2022, in Moscow, 33-year-old local resident Ekaterina Zavalishina was detained. She was accused of treason. According to the security forces' version, the woman passed information constituting a state secret to a representative of a foreign state. It is not specified which state is being referred to. On June 14, 2022, Lefortovo District Court of Moscow sent Zavolishin into custody. On 6 May 2024, the Moscow City Court found Ekaterina Zavalyshina guilty and sentenced her to 13 years of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony. On July 31, 2024, the Appellate Military Court left the sentence unchanged.
