Case Description
12 November 2024 in Nizhny Novgorod, an unknown woman threw a bottle with an incendiary mixture at the building of the Nizhny Novgorod District Administration. She was unable to set anything on fire - the bottles broke and the liquid spread. Later that evening, police officers discovered several broken bottles near the department on Nizhnevogazhskaya Embankment. There was also a strong smell of flammable liquid there. After reviewing the surveillance cameras, the police noticed a girl who had thrown three beer bottles at the police station an hour earlier and left. Meanwhile, the fire did not start. Two days later, on November 14, 22-year-old student Ekaterina Terpelova was detained in Lipetsk. It is claimed that after unsuccessful attempts to set fire to something in Nizhny Novgorod, she got into a taxi and went to Lipetsk to do the same there, but she was detained. The girl was escorted to Nizhny Novgorod, where she reported during questioning that she had become a victim of fraudsters—first they forced her to take out loans, and then promised to return the money if she threw homemade bottles with incendiary mixture at the administration and police department. After that, the scammers told the girl that she needed to go to Lipetsk. Terpelov was accused of attempting a terrorist act, by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. The Moscow District Court of Nizhny Novgorod sent her to a pre-trial detention center.
