Case Description
In annexed Crimea in July 2025, a 38-year-old local resident, Ekaterina Fomenko, was detained." She was accused of spreading "fake news" about the Russian army. The reason for the criminal prosecution was anti-war posts on social networks. It is unknown what exactly the woman wrote. On July 7, 2025, the court sent Fomenko into custody at the request of the investigation. Earlier, in May and June 2025, the woman was brought to justice in cases of administrative offenses under the article on "discrediting" the army. Due to fines, the woman was forced to quit her job.
