Case Description
In Chita in the summer of 2024 (the exact date is unknown), a 28-year-old local resident, Ekaterina Yegorova, was detained. It is claimed that at the time of her detention, she was trying to leave the country. The woman was accused of treason. According to the FSB's version, from June 2023 to April 2024, Yegorova sent money to purchase equipment and gear for the Ukrainian army. Under each transfer, she left signatures in Ukrainian: "for thermal imagers," "for aerial reconnaissance," "for anti-drone shield." The woman was placed in a pre-trial detention center for the duration of the investigation. On April 29, 2025, the Novosibirsk Regional Court found Ekaterina Yegorova guilty and sentenced her to 12 years in prison to be served in a general regime penal colony, a fine of 200 thousand rubles, and a 1-year restriction of freedom. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
