Case Description
In December 2024, a criminal case was initiated in the Novosibirsk region for committing sabotage against 17-year-old local resident Egor Shelkopyas. The date of his detention is unknown. According to the investigation, in December 2024, Shelkopyas, acting on the instructions of an unidentified person from the internet for a monetary reward of 30 thousand rubles, committed arson of a relay cabinet. The incident occurred on the stretch between the stations Novosibirsk-Vostochny and Novosibirsk-Golovnoy Zapadno-Sibirskaya railway in the Dzerzhinsky district of Novosibirsk. The damage caused was estimated by the investigation at more than 150 thousand. rubles. The court chose a measure of restraint for the defendant in the form of detention. August 6, 2025, the Novosibirsk Regional Court found Egor Shelkoplyas guilty and sentenced him to 6 years in a general regime correctional colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
