Case Description
In May 2022, a criminal case was opened against Eduard Shcherbakov (David Eichenhof) from Tyumen on "fakes" about the Russian army and "rehabilitation of Nazism. Shcherbakov was accused of posting publications in the form of statements containing knowingly false information about the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the Internet under the guise of reliable reports on April 11, 2022, and on May 6, 2022, he uploaded a photo of Hitler to the "Immortal Regiment" website. On May 7, Judge Rosa Kukeeva of the Central District Court of Tyumen sent Shcherbakov to a pre-trial detention center." On July 21, 2022, Judge Tatyana Ionova of the Tyumen Regional Court found Eduard Shcherbakov guilty and sentenced him to 6 months in a penal colony-settlement. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force. In Kursk, in early November 2022, a search was conducted in the rented apartment of David Eichenhof, who had served his sentence in the 'anti-war case'. Investigative actions were also carried out in the apartment of Eikhendorf's friend, where he registered the latter. All the equipment was confiscated from the young people. The reason for the security forces' visit is unknown.
