Case Description
In Volgograd, no later than April 2024 (the exact date is unknown), a criminal case was opened for public calls for extremist activity against local resident Dmitry Zubkov, 34 years old. According to the investigation, in March 2023, Zubkov posted comments in one of the communities on the Telegram platform that "contained calls for violent actions against persons of Russian nationality due to their participation in the conduct of the special military operation." On May 24, 2024, the Kirovsky District Court of Volgograd found Dmitry Zubkov guilty and sentenced him to imprisonment for 1 year and 6 months in a penal colony-settlement, with deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the creation and use of accounts on social networks, for the purpose of posting public information for 2 years. On July 18, 2024, the Volgograd Regional Court left the verdict in force.
