Zaytsev Dmitriy Yurevich

In Kursk at the end of October 2024, a 36-year-old local resident, Dmitry Zaitsev, was detained. He was accused of collaborating with a foreign terrorist organization and participating in its activities. According to the investigation, Zaitsev established contact by email with a representative of the 'Freedom of Russia' legion, recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. He agreed to photograph military and civilian infrastructure objects in Kursk and pasted leaflets with the organization's symbols. In addition, Zaitsev stated his desire to join the ranks of the armed forces of Ukraine. After the detention, the court sent the defendant in the case to a pre-trial detention center. Six months later, he was transferred to house arrest, but later the man was sent back to the SIZO, as it became known that he allegedly tried to leave for Ukraine through Belarus.
