Case Description
In early September 2025, a search was conducted at the home of a local 25-year-old resident, Dmitry Semyonov, in Olenegorsk, Murmansk Oblast. He was accused of financing "extremist" activities. Charges were brought against him for donating to Alexei Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation. According to the investigation, Semenov sent donations totaling 3.5 thousand rubles from August 2021 to February 2022. On September 4, 2025, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Murmansk placed the defendant in the case in a pre-trial detention center at the request of the investigation. On December 9, 2025, the Monchegorsk City Court of the Murmansk Region found Dmitry Semyonov guilty and sentenced him to 3 years of imprisonment conditionally, with a probation period of 3 years and confiscation of the 3.5 thousand he donated. rubles for the benefit of the state.
