Seleznyov Dmitriy Borisovich

In Altai Krai, local 42-year-old resident Dmitry Seleznev was detained no later than the end of June 2023. He was accused of attempted state treason and a terrorist act. According to the investigation, Seleznev contacted some Ukrainians on "Odnoklassniki" and during correspondence with them "repeatedly expressed his negative attitude towards the current political course of Russia and the special military operation being carried out." In order to provide assistance to Ukraine, Seleznev, while servicing a field kitchen and thinking that it was intended for military personnel, allegedly added an insecticidal agent to the water. He then sent video evidence to Telegram to his "curators." The water was not used, no one was harmed. Seleznev himself claims that he filmed a fake video to get into closed Telegram channels. During the investigation, the man was sent to a pre-trial detention center. On July 31, 2024, the 2nd Eastern Military Court found Dmitry Seleznev guilty and sentenced him to 20 years of imprisonment, with the first 4 years to be served in prison, and the remainder of the sentence in a strict regime penal colony, and a 1.5-year restriction of freedom. On November 21, 2024, the Appellate Military Court upheld the verdict.
