Case Description
On the night of October 17, 2023, at the entrance to the Crimean Bridge on the road from Crimea to Krasnodar Krai, 43-year-old Crimean resident Dmitry Pospelov was detained. A protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up against the man under the article on failure to comply with a lawful order of law enforcement officers. According to police reports, Pospelov, while at the Taman SIDRK post, refused to present identity documents to an officer of the Federal Security Service. On November 19, 2023, Judge Tatyana Orlova of the Temryuk District Court of Krasnodar Krai sentenced Pospelov to 15 days of administrative arrest. After serving his sentence, the man was detained again, after which a second protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up against him under the article on failure to comply with a lawful order of law enforcement officers. On December 3, 2023, Judge Sergey Nazarenko of the Temryuk District Court of Krasnodar Krai sentenced Pospelov to 15 days of administrative arrest - for the fact that, while in a patrol car, he "used crude obscene language, banged on the detainee compartment, tried to break free and escape by running away," due to which the police were forced to use physical force against him and put handcuffs on him. Pospelov was then detained and sent to administrative arrest under the article on failure to comply with a lawful order of law enforcement officers at least four more times: in mid-December, on January 2, 2024, Judge Nikolay Mironenko of the Slavyansk City Court of Krasnodar Krai sentenced him to 10 days for grabbing police officers by their uniforms, trying to start a fight and escape by running away. On January 12, 2024, Judge Yulia Pelyushenko of the Slavyansk City Court of Krasnodar Krai sentenced him to 15 days of administrative arrest on similar charges. On February 24, 2024, Judge Natalya Kovalchuk of the Slavyansk City Court of Krasnodar Krai sent Pospelov to arrest for 5 days - for "grabbing police officers by their uniforms, trying to start a fight and escape by running away." At the end of February 2024, Pospelov was detained and sent to a pre-trial detention center on charges of treason. According to the investigation, in 2017 the man visited Ukraine. At the "Chongar" checkpoint he met with an "SBU representative" and agreed to cooperate. After that, Pospelov settled in the Leninsky District of the Republic of Crimea, where he began installing and maintaining surveillance cameras in hotels located on the coastal territory. It is claimed that Pospelov provided SBU representatives with access to surveillance cameras installed in Crimean hotels, using which they gained the ability to monitor the highways along which Russian Armed Forces equipment was moving. In addition, he allegedly gave his "curator" access to a database containing information about citizens of the Russian Federation who are users of one of the internet providers. On December 6, 2024, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea found Dmitry Pospelov guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in prison to be served in a strict regime penal colony and 1.5 years of restricted freedom. On March 1, 2025, the Third Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the sentence unchanged.
