Case Description
On May 23, 2023, in the Moscow region, Dmitry Pekhterev, a resident of the village of Rodniki in the Ramensky district, was detained. According to the investigation, the man was removing stickers with the letter Z from cars. A criminal case was opened against him for damaging someone else's property and he was sent to a pre-trial detention center. Later, an article on vandalism motivated by political hatred was added to the charges. On February 21, 2024, the Ramensky City Court of the Moscow Region found Dmitry Pekhterev guilty and sentenced him to one year and eight months in a penal colony-settlement. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
