Case Description
On June 6, 2023, security forces conducted a search at the home of local resident Dmitry Pavlyuchenko in Syktyvkar. His phones, laptop, and router were confiscated. Orlov himself was released on his own recognizance not to leave. The man was accused of justifying terrorism. The reason for the criminal prosecution was three comments on VKontakte about the explosion on the Crimean Bridge. The comments were made on October 8, 2022, and the explosion was recognized as a terrorist attack the next day, October 9. In particular, under the news about Putin's birthday, he wrote: 'Another little gift arrived' and '...I will be glad if there is such a gift for my birthday.' On December 7, 2023, Judge Sergei Brovko of the 2nd Western District Military Court found Dmitry Pavlyuchenko guilty and sentenced him to three years in a general regime colony. On March 28, 2024, the Appellate Military Court upheld the sentence.
