Case Description
In occupied Luhansk, the FSB of Russia for the Luhansk People's Republic, together with the FSB of Russia for the Federal Security Service of the National Guard, detained a 48-year-old local resident, a citizen of Ukraine, Dmytro Ostrchuk, no later than November 2023 (the exact date is unknown). A criminal case was opened against him for financing terrorism. According to the version of the Russian security forces, the Ukrainian, reliably knowing that the Ukrainian militarized nationalist association 'Azov' is recognized as a terrorist organization and its activities are prohibited on the territory of Russia, in the period from February to November 2023, carried out at least eight transfers of funds using a mobile platform to members of this organization. On August 8, 2024, the Southern Military District Court found Dmitry Ostrchuk guilty and sentenced him to 8 years and 6 months of imprisonment in a strict regime correctional colony.
