Case Description
In Saratov in 2023 (exact date unknown), a criminal case was opened for calls to extremism and repeated demonstrations of prohibited symbols against a local resident, a combat veteran, Dmitry Lyalyaev. According to the investigation, Lyalyayev posted on the social network VKontakte a post titled "The Brain of a Putinoid as a Phenomenon for an Anthropologist" and left two text comments on it. First: "A logical continuation. And these Putin's creatures - who are they for Russia?" Maybe they made discoveries in science? Maybe they strengthened the defense? Maybe they amazed the world with the development of culture? Maybe they raised the Russian economy above the US and China? So WHAT have they done for our Homeland? I will answer. They brazenly robbed her together with the scoundrel and thief Putin. And brought our Homeland to the level of Somalia. And is there a more worthy retribution for these creatures than the death penalty by firing squad?" Second comment: "Shoot, shoot the Putinists, like rabid dogs!" Collect their corpses and take them to the crematoriums. After burning them, load their ashes into artillery guns and fire this ash into the air. So that not even a memory of these scoundrels remains in Russia! The expert assessment concluded that the comments "contain linguistic and psychological signs of incitement (calls) to violent actions against a group distinguished by social affiliation - representatives of the authorities." For the duration of the investigation, Lyalyayev was given a summons obligation. Earlier, in October and November 2022, Lyalyaeva was repeatedly fined in cases of administrative offenses due to posts on VKontakte: under the article on disrespect for authority due to an image of Putin with Hitler's mustache and hairstyle, and two thousand rubles under the article on the demonstration of prohibited symbols - also due to an image of Putin in the form of Hitler and for an image of him with tattoos used in the criminal world." On September 11, 2023, the Volzhsky District Court of Saratov found Dmitry Lyalyaev guilty and sentenced him to 2 years in a penal colony settlement. The court also prohibited Lyalyaev from engaging in activities related to the administration of websites on the Internet for a period of 2 years. November 20, 2023, the Saratov Regional Court upheld the sentence. A search was conducted on May 25, 2023, in Saratov at the home of a 58-year-old local resident, bard, and veteran of combat operations Dmitry Lyalyayev. He was accused of spreading "fakes" about the Russian army. The grounds for initiating a criminal case were publications posted on "VKontakte" on April 7 and on Twitter on April 28, 2022, which, according to the investigation, contained information that "military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were shooting Ukrainians living in Bucha, disgracefully fled from under Kyiv and the northern part of the Republic of Ukraine, as well as a negative attitude towards the conduct of the SVO and the goals and reasons for its beginning. During this time, Lyalev was under house arrest. The court also placed a lien on his land plot as a security measure. On November 20, 2023, Judge Tatyana Sadomtseva of the Volga District Court of Saratov found Dmitry Lyalyayev guilty and sentenced him to six months in prison. For the totality of crimes, by partially combining the previously imposed punishment under the verdict of the Volzhsky District Court of Saratov dated 11 September 2023, the court finally sentenced Lyalyayev to deprivation of liberty for a term of two years and two months to be served in a penal colony-settlement. The court also deprived Lyalyayev of the right to engage in activities related to the administration of websites and the creation of accounts on social networks for two years. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
