Case Description
In annexed Sevastopol, no later than the end of September 2017, spouses Anna Sukhonosova and Dmitry Dovgopolov were detained. Anna was accused of attempted treason, and the man was accused of treason. According to the FSB, Dovgopolov and his wife allegedly 'collected and transmitted to Ukrainian special services information constituting state secrets about the activities of units and formations of the Black Sea Fleet, the leakage of which abroad could damage the state's defense capability.' The information in question is not specified. For the duration of the investigation, the spouses were placed in a remand prison. On February 28, 2019, the Southern Military District Court found the defendants guilty and sentenced Dmitry Dovgopolov to 10 years in a strict regime colony and Anna Sukhonosova to 9 years in a general regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
