Case Description
In early March 2024, the FSB detained 20-year-old Yuri Blednykh, 26-year-old Maxim Polukarov, and 30-year-old Dmitry Dementyev in Orenburg. The young men were accused of committing a 'terrorist act' and 'sabotage' by a group of persons by prior conspiracy." The details of the charges are unknown. Searches were conducted in the homes of the detainees and their relatives, during which all equipment was seized." On March 4, 2024, the Leninsky District Court of Orenburg sent all three to a pre-trial detention center. According to human rights activist Albina Mudarisova of the "Team Against Torture, who was present at the hearing on the choice of a preventive measure, Dmitry Dementyev looked beaten, and the court-appointed lawyer Yuri Blednykh reported that the guy "only had a bump on his forehead and had no complaints.
