Case Description
Police officers in the Kursk region detained 38-year-old former head of the district police department Dmitry Borzenkov in June 2020. He was accused of treason. According to the FSB's version, Borzenkov was recruited to cooperate by one of the units of the Security Service of Ukraine. Acting on the instructions of a foreign intelligence service, he collected and transmitted information constituting a state secret. For the duration of the investigation, the defendant was placed in a pre-trial detention center. April 21, 2023, the Kursk Regional Court found Dmitry Borzenkov guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in a strict regime colony with a fine of 200 thousand. rubles. On October 24, 2022, the First Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the verdict unchanged.
