Case Description
In the Luhansk People's Republic, no later than September 2022, a 23-year-old local resident, a citizen of Ukraine, Denis Zadiraka, was detained. He was accused of espionage. According to the Russian investigation, from June to September 2022, Zadiraka collected information about the movement and deployment locations of Russian servicemen in the territory of the Kremensky and Svatovsky districts of the republic. According to the data, he transmitted it through messengers to his brother, who serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For the duration of the investigation, the defendant was placed in a pre-trial detention center. 6 June 2024 at the latest, the Supreme Court of the LPR found Denis Zadiraka guilty and sentenced him to 12 years in a strict regime penal colony. Information about an appeal against the verdict is not available.
