Case Description
In the annexed Yalta of the Republic of Crimea, a 29-year-old Ukrainian refugee, a native of the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, Denis Yanchus, was detained in late November 2024. He was accused of public calls for extremist activity. The reason for the criminal prosecution was allegedly "calls for violent actions against Russians." The man was placed in a pre-trial detention center for the duration of the investigation.
