Case Description
In the village of Pechenga, Murmansk Oblast, in February 2023, the Investigative Committee for the Pechenga garrison opened a criminal case for failure to carry out an order during mobilization against military doctor, lieutenant of the medical service Denis Vasilyev. An order to depart to the combat zone was received in his unit, which the doctor refused to carry out due to personal beliefs." On December 18, 2024, the St. Petersburg Garrison Military Court found Denis Vasilyev guilty and sentenced him to two years in prison, suspended for two years. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
