Mamonov Denis Igorevich

In Novokuznetsk at the end of October 2024, a criminal case was opened against 28-year-old sambo coach Denis Mamonov on charges of calling for terrorism. The reason for the criminal prosecution was presumably statements made by Mamontov during a meeting with the city administration and the police, as well as possibly publications on VKontakte in which the man spoke out against the invasion of Ukraine and the Russian authorities. Some of them were devoted to the seizure of the sports hall where Mamnov taught, for a military commissariat in the spring of 2023. In them, he wrote that "the city and regional administration is engaged in racketeering" and "is making itself comfortable conditions by violating the legislation of the Russian Federation." Mamonov, together with the parents of the students, signed collective letters and appealed to the media, trying to save the sports hall, but they failed. According to him, local journalists refused to cover the situation because they feared persecution "for discrediting the Ministry of Defense of Russia. In August 2023, Mammon was summoned to the police department for questioning. After that, the man decided to leave Russia for Turkey. Already in another country, he, according to him, received threats and insults, including against his child.
