Mitrukhin Demid Nikolaevich

In December 2024, a 17-year-old schoolboy, Demid Mitrukhin, was detained in Irkutsk. The reason for the detention was certain leaflets that the teenager was posting around the city. A criminal case was initiated against the child for participating in an extremist organization, calls for terrorism, and financing it. The details of the charges are unknown. During the investigation, Demid was placed under a written undertaking not to leave and to behave properly. At the end of March, a teenager was detained in the city of Cheremkhovo, Irkutsk Oblast - he was removed from a train when he tried to leave the country. According to Demid's relatives, he was detained harshly, severely beaten during the detention. The boy was taken to the Angarsk pre-trial detention centre, where they continued to beat him, warning that if he did not sign documents about a "purely heartfelt confession", he would be put in a certain "cell", where he would be "done for. They threatened that his close friend would be made an accomplice. Demid signed a protocol stating that he was traveling to Moscow to commit a terrorist attack. On March 28, 2025, the teenager was placed in a pre-trial detention center. Later, the charges against Demid were toughened - the article on state treason in the form of providing financial assistance to a foreign organization against the Russian Federation was added. All cases were combined into one proceeding.
