She threw an incendiary mixture towards the military enlistment office, after which she tried to escape, but she was detained by employees of the security service of the Federal State Institution 'Security and Protection Service of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Chelyabinsk Region'. The fire was quickly extinguished. The woman was accused of attempted destruction of another's property by a generally dangerous method. During the interrogation, Shemanina reported that she had been deceived by fraudsters who called her and introduced themselves as "employees of the Central Bank. Under their instructions, she took out several loans, sold her house, and transferred the money to their account, and later agreed to set fire to the military enlistment office due to financial threats to her and her loved ones. On August 3, 2023, the Verkhneuralsky District Court of the Chelyabinsk Region denied the prosecution's request to place Shemanina in custody and released her under house arrest.
