Afonin Danila Evgenevich

1. In December 2023 (the exact date is unknown), a criminal case was initiated in Pskov for repeated "discrediting the army" against local 48-year-old activist Danila Afonin. The reason for the criminal prosecution was certain posts on VKontakte. Details of the charges are unknown. On January 17, 2024, a search was conducted at his home, during which all his equipment was seized. Before the selection of a preventive measure, the activist was placed in a temporary detention facility. On January 18, the court chose a prohibition of certain actions as a preventive measure for Afonin – he is not allowed to use a phone or the internet. Earlier, in January 2023, Afonin was fined under an administrative offense case under the article on "discrediting" the Russian Armed Forces due to VKontakte posts. On January 20, 2025, the Pskov City Court of the Pskov Region found Danila Afonin guilty and sentenced him to 1 year of probation. The court also deprived the man of the right to administer websites, forums, channels, chats, and groups on social networks on the "Internet" for 2 years.
