Case Description
In Novosibirsk, no later than September 2024, a criminal case was opened against 20-year-old local resident Danil Likhanov for financing terrorism. In late December of the same year, the young man reported that after his detention, he was tortured to obtain the password to his smartphone and forced to sign a confession." "Furthermore, in April 2024, he allegedly wrote a comment in the RDK Telegram channel calling for financial assistance to commit terrorist crimes. Later, charges of treason and public calls for terrorism were added to the accusation. 24 December 2025, the 2nd Eastern Military District Court found Danila Likhanov guilty and sentenced him to 14 years in prison, the first 3 years he must spend in prison, and the remaining term in a strict regime colony.
