On March 6, 2022, he was detained at an anti-war rally in the center of Novosibirsk. He was not an active participant in the protests, he just sat on a bench in Lenin Square when OMON officers approached him and took him to a paddy wagon. After checking the documents in the student department, he was released to freedom.

Case Description
1. In the Kursk region in October 2022, an 18-year-old resident of the village of Berezovka in the Novosibirsk district of the Novosibirsk region, a medical college student Danila Berdyugin, was detained. He was accused of preparing for state treason and attempting to illegally cross the state border. According to the investigation, the Novosibirsk resident "changed sides to the enemy, but did not complete the act due to circumstances beyond his control." The details of the accusation are unknown. Danila himself claimed that he was going to the front "to help wounded Russian servicemen." In mid-January 2024, FSB officers again came to Berdyugin's parents in Novosibirsk, but this time with a search. They demanded to hand over all documents "related to Ukraine," weapons, and money. The operatives inspected the rooms, the basement, and checked electronic devices, but found nothing. On August 3, 2023, the Kursk Regional Court found Danila Berdyugin guilty and sentenced him to six years in a strict regime colony with a one-year restriction of freedom. On December 4, 2023, the First Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the verdict unchanged.
