Case Description
On September 24, 2022, searches were conducted at the activists of the "Vesna" movement in St. Petersburg. The formal reason for the search was an alleged report of mining at the Moscow District Court of St. Petersburg. One of the activists who was searched was 34-year-old Daniil Krinari. Following a search and interrogation, he was placed in a temporary detention facility for 48 hours. Krinary tried to leave, but on December 21 of the same year he was detained in the Belarusian city of Grodno, after which the activist was escorted to Moscow. On December 22, Lefortovo District Court of Moscow sent the activist into custody. Krinary were placed in Lefortovo SIZO. Krinari was accused of confidential cooperation with a foreign state to the detriment of the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, he secretly collaborated with a foreign state. On December 4, 2025, the 2nd Western District Military Court in absentia found Dmitry Bondarovich, Andrey Dzyaniya, and Vitaly Sendzyuk guilty and sentenced each to life imprisonment, with Bondarovich and Sendzyuk required to serve the first five years in prison, and Dzyaniya the first eight years, as he had previously been convicted." 3. On April 9, 2024, a panel of three judges led by Maxim Ivchenko, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow City Court, found Daniil Krinari guilty and sentenced him to five years in a general regime penal colony. On June 5, 2024, the First Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the verdict in force. In early September 2025, it became known that another criminal case had been opened against Krinari—he was accused of planning a terrorist attack and inciting hatred or enmity. According to the investigation, Krinari ran a Telegram channel. A person, presumably from Ukraine, contacted him in personal messages and discussed certain prohibited topics with him. Details are unknown.
