Case Description
Unknown individuals threw a bottle containing remnants of gasoline and oil through the window of the duty officer's office at the military commissariat in the village of Ivanteevka, Saratov Oblast, on the night of December 22-23, 2022. The fire was extinguished, but the premises were badly damaged by the fire. 41-year-old local resident, former deputy of the Znamensky municipal formation from United Russia, Daniil Akimov, was detained the next morning. He was accused of destroying someone else's property. Akimov himself said that "he set the fire just for fun, for hooliganism. On December 24, 2022, the Pugachevsky District Court of the Saratov Region chose Akimova's measure of restraint in the form of house arrest. On November 24, 2023, Akimova was released from house arrest under a written undertaking not to leave and to behave properly. On December 25, 2023, another criminal case was opened against Akimov - for attempted organization of an illegal armed formation. The details of this accusation are unknown. On the same day, criminal cases were combined into one production. The next day, on December 26, 2023, the charge for destroying someone else's property was toughened: it was reclassified as committing a terrorist act. On December 27, 2023, the Pugachevsky District Court of the Saratov Region again placed Akimov under arrest. On February 28, 2025, the Central Military District Court found Daniil Akimov guilty and sentenced him to 15 years of imprisonment, the first 4 years of the sentence he will spend in prison, and the remaining time in a strict regime colony.
