On December 12, 2023, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Boris Kagarlitsky guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 600 thousand. rubles and a ban on administering websites for 2 years. On February 13, Judge Alexander Mordovin of the Appellate Military Court replaced a fine with 5 years in a general regime colony. Kagalitsky was again taken into custody in the courtroom.
