Case Description
1. In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, no later than May 2024, Boris Frantsuk, a 56-year-old native of Ukraine, was detained on charges of attempted state treason and calls for terrorism on the internet. Details of the charges are unknown. The man was placed in a pre-trial detention center for the duration of the investigation. On February 21, 2025, the 1st Eastern Military District Court found Boris Frantsuk guilty and sentenced him to 14 years in prison to be served in a strict regime correctional colony. On June 9, 2025, the Appellate Military Court upheld the verdict.
