Case Description
At the beginning of September 2023, in the Republic of Ingushetia, local resident Beslan Tsechoev was detained. His was accused of preparing for treason and illegal acquisition and storage of firearms and ammunition. According to law enforcement, the man tried to leave the country to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and for this he allegedly initiated contact with an SBU officer who was recruiting and training volunteers to participate in hostilities against the RF Armed Forces. On September 8, 2024, the Magas District Court of the Republic of Ingushetia denied the investigation's request to choose Tsetsoev as a measure of restraint and placed him under house arrest. 7 February 2024, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Ingushetia found Beslan Tsechoev guilty and sentenced him to 5 years in a strict regime colony and 1.5 years of restriction of liberty. Tsechoeva was taken into custody in the courtroom. On June 6, 2024, the Third Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction changed the verdict, details are unknown.
