Case Description
On June 5, 2022, in the village of Pushkino, annexed Crimea, an unknown person threw a bottle with a flammable mixture through the window of the administration building of the village of Pushkino, Sovetsky District. A fire broke out in the premises for meetings of local deputies, which was quickly extinguished. No one was hurt. A 25-year-old local resident Aziz Fayzullaev was detained on suspicion of arson. A criminal case was opened against him for the destruction of someone else's property by a generally dangerous method. Later, a video appeared online where Fayzullaev confessed to arson. On October 26, 2022, the Soviet District Court of the Republic of Crimea found Aziz Fayzullaev guilty and sentenced him to 3 years in a general regime colony and a fine of 700 thousand. rubles. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force. On August 16, 2023, the Kerch City Court of the Republic of Crimea granted the defense's motion and ruled to replace the remaining unserved part of the sentence for Fayzullaev, which was one year seven months four days of imprisonment, with a milder form of punishment in the form of compulsory labor for a period of one year seven months four days with the deduction of 10% of the convict's wages to the state.
