Case Description

On February 1, 2017, in Simferopol, Warrant Officer Askhabali Aliyev, being the commander of a unit of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation in Crimea, outraged by the fact that one of his subordinates, sailor Ustimov, was absent from his workplace, struck him in the face with his fist, breaking his lower jaw. The defendant admitted his guilt and compensated the victim for the damage. The verdict - 3 years of imprisonment conditionally with a probationary period of 2 years - was issued by the Crimean Garrison Military Court in the city of Simferopol on May 19, 2017. On February 10, 2018, Askhabali (Askhab) Alibekov created a channel on 'YouTube' and on February 11, 2018, he posted a video. Standing against the backdrop of the flag of Russian military intelligence (bat) and the flag of Dagestan in a striped shirt and blue beret with a Soviet cockade, he said, in particular: "There will now be presidential elections." 3. And you know better than me that these elections... are predetermined. Putin will be — already, definitely, it's clear. Addressing "brothers-paratroopers" and "special forces warriors, Alibekov suggested they remember the slogan "nobody but us" and boycott the elections. On July 11, 2018, the judge of the Primorsky Court of Novorossiysk M. E. Savin granted the representation of the head of the branch in the city From the Criminal Executive Inspection of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory to the Novorossiysk Criminal Executive Inspection of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory about the cancellation of the suspended sentence of A. A. Alibekov and the execution of the sentence imposed by the verdict of the Simferopol Garrison Military Court of Crimea dated 19.05.2017 in the form of 3 years of imprisonment. The court justified its decision by stating that Alibekov, during the probationary period, systematically violated public order throughout the year, as he was brought to administrative responsibility three times, which is confirmed by court decisions that have entered into force, and was repeatedly warned about the cancellation of the suspended sentence, but did not draw the appropriate conclusions for himself. In Kazan on February 20, 2024, around 15 security forces detained blogger, author of the YouTube channel "Wild Airborne Troops", Askhabali Alibekov, who came to the city to file an application with the CEC in order to become an observer in the elections. He planned to spend a whole month in the city. Along the way to the transport police department, the man was beaten. According to Alibekov, he was beaten on the body and face, laid on the ground, and he was left with bruises and abrasions. He also stated that he was injected with something resembling a syringe in the back, after which he felt dizzy. On the same day, the Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan arrested Alibekov for 15 days under the article on disobedience to the police. Before being placed in the special reception center, doctors diagnosed Alibekov with a bruise, hematoma, and abrasion. On March 1, it became known that a criminal case was initiated against Askhabali Alibekov for the use of non-dangerous violence against a police officer. According to law enforcement officers, when police officers were beating him, Alibekov inflicted at least two blows to the leg of one of them. On March 4, the Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan sent Alibekov to a pre-trial detention center. Earlier, Askhabali Alibekov was sentenced in a case involving repeated discrediting of the Russian army. The reason for Alibekov's criminal prosecution was his videos about Ukraine and Putin. On 9 October 2024, the Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, found Askhabali Alibekov guilty and sentenced him to two years and four months in a strict regime colony. On 29 November 2024, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tatarstan changed the qualification of the case from "serious crime" to "crime of medium gravity" and reduced the prison sentence to two years in a strict regime colony. On September 6, 2022, in Novorossiysk, a 51-year-old local resident, blogger known as 'Wild Desantnik' (Wild Paratrooper) Ashabali Alibekov was detained. He was accused of a repeated "discrediting" of the RF army. The reason for the criminal prosecution was a video published on Alibekov's YouTube channel in April 2022, titled "Freedom..or..Revenge. What is better._", in which law enforcement officers saw "a combination of psychological and linguistic signs of incitement (including in the form of a call) to counteract the functioning of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, acting to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, maintaining international peace and security." Masked and armored OMON officers conducted a search of Alibekov's home. Before the measure of restraint was chosen, Alibekova was placed in a temporary detention isolator. The next day, on September 7, the court refused to place him in custody at the request of the investigation and released him on his own recognizance not to leave. However, after Alibekov refused to wear a bracelet for tracking his movements, the court sent him to a pre-trial detention center. Earlier, in March 2022, Alibekova was held accountable in a case of an administrative offense under the article on "discrediting" the RF army for the video "Putin's Resignation, published on March 16, in which Alibekov allegedly "publicly called for obstructing the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation outside the territory of the RF. On January 23, 2025, the Primorsky District Court of Novorossiysk terminated the case against Askhabali Alibekov due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for bringing him to criminal responsibility. The court's decision was not appealed and entered into legal force.
