Case Description
In September 2023, a criminal case for calls for terrorism was opened in Vladivostok against 33-year-old local resident Artyom Sinenko. According to the investigation, the man, being dissatisfied with the internal and external policy of the Russian Federation, with the aim of forming the ideology of terrorism, conviction in its attractiveness and the idea of the permissibility of carrying out terrorist activities among an unlimited circle of persons, being in Vladivostok and using his mobile phone on November 23 and December 4, 2022, posted publicly available text messages containing signs of propaganda of the ideology and views of violent seizure of power in the Russian Federation from his account in a public chat of the Telegram internet messenger. September 5, 2023, the court, at the request of the investigation, placed the defendant in the case in a remand prison. On February 9, 2024, the Pacific Fleet Military Court found Artem Sineiko guilty and sentenced him to 2 years of imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony, with deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the placement of public appeals and materials on the Internet for 2 years. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
