Case Description
1. In the Belgorod region, at the end of December 2024, a criminal case was opened against 23-year-old unmanned aerial vehicle operator Artem Pinzov of the "Strix" aerial reconnaissance group, 1st border commandant's office of the 4th border detachment of the eastern regional directorate of the State Border Service of Ukraine. He was accused of committing a terrorist act as part of an organized group that resulted in the deaths of several people. According to the Russian investigation, on the late evening of January 28, 2024, Pinzov, while on a combat position in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, launched an unmanned aerial vehicle and dropped an explosive device on one of the districts of the Belgorod region. As a result, two people were killed. Pinzov acted as part of an organized group under the leadership of representatives of the highest military and political leadership of Ukraine. The court in absentia chose detention as a preventive measure against Artem Pinzov and put him on the wanted list. On December 22, 2025, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Artem Pinzov guilty in absentia and sentenced him to life imprisonment, the first 8 years of which he must serve in prison, and the remaining part of the sentence in a strict regime correctional colony.
