Glebov Arseniy Nikolaevich

On May 8, 2022, at Vnukovo Airport, 29-year-old Arseniy Glevov, a resident of Chistopol in the Republic of Tatarstan, was detained when he was about to fly to Georgia. According to his sister, Glebov was forced to buy a ticket to Kazan with his own money, and upon arrival he was detained. The next day, a search was conducted at his home as part of a criminal case of incitement to mass riots. The young man was ordered to appear for questioning as a witness on May 20. However, a criminal case was then opened against him for attempted participation in an illegal armed formation and he was taken into custody. According to the investigation, on March 6, 2022, Glebov, while in Yerevan, appealed to the military attache of Ukraine in Armenia with a request to assist him in joining the "International Legion" to fight against Russia on the side of the armed formations of Ukraine. In parallel, on the video hosting platform YouTube, Glebov wrote a comment addressed to Vladimir Zelensky, where he criticized the authorities of the Russian Federation, expressed his willingness to take an oath to Ukraine, and prove his loyalty to the leadership of that country. Later, a criminal case was opened against the young man for "fakes" about the Russian army on the grounds of political hatred." The reason for initiating the case was a post about Russia bombing Ukrainian cities and maternity hospitals. On October 17, 2025, the Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, found Arseniy Glebov guilty and sentenced him to eight years and six months in a strict regime colony.
