Case Description
In Abakan, a criminal case was opened against Anton Sidya, a resident of Zheleznogorsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai, who is in SIZO-1 and accused of illegal drug trafficking, on charges of rehabilitating Nazism. The exact date of the case being opened is unknown. According to law enforcement agencies, Sidy, being in a remand prison cell, in connection with "disagreement with the conduct of a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine to protect the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, out of "political hatred and enmity towards representatives of state authorities and a negative assessment of the foreign and domestic policy of the USSR and Russia, repeatedly, publicly, in the presence of other persons held in the cell, denied the facts established by the verdict of the International Military Tribunal, as well as approved the crimes established by the verdict of the Tribunal, and disseminated knowingly false information about the activities of the USSR during the Second World War. Anton Sidiya was found guilty by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Khakassia and sentenced to 2 years and 9 months in prison. For the totality of crimes, by partially adding the sentence imposed by the Abakan City Court of the Republic of Khakassia on June 30, 2022, the court sentenced Sidy to a final punishment of deprivation of liberty for a term of 13 years in a strict regime correctional colony. The court also deprived the man of the right to post materials on the Internet for 2.5 years.
