Case Description
In Omsk, early in the morning on February 9, 2023, unknown individuals attempted to set fire to a military enlistment office on Magistralnaya Street. Several Molotov cocktails were thrown into the windows of the second floor of the building, but no fire occurred. Later, military enlistment office employees came to work, they saw bottles and a broken window, after which they called the police. The security forces who arrived conducted an inspection of the premises; in addition to Molotov cocktails, they found a bottle of vodka between the window frames, and under the window on the roof of the annex - a bag with fuel, rags, electrical tape, and a lighter." Soon, local resident Anton Platov, 32, was detained on charges of arson. A criminal case was opened against him for intentional destruction of other people's property. However, it was later reported that the Omsk resident was accused of committing a terrorist act that resulted in significant property damage. On February 11, the Kuibyshevsky District Court of Omsk arrested Platov. On February 6, 2024, the 1st Eastern Military Court terminated the case against Anton Platov and sent him for compulsory treatment. The court's decision was not appealed and entered into legal force.
