Case Description
In St. Petersburg at 1:20 AM on May 24, 2025, local resident Anna Osipova, 38, threw three bottles with incendiary mixture through the window of the assembly hall of police station No. 37 of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Vasileostrovsky District of St. Petersburg, after which she fled the scene by car. The police themselves managed to extinguish the fire before the firefighters arrived, and no one was injured. The woman was detained. According to her, she became a victim of scammers who systematically gave her certain instructions for a week, the last of which was to set fire to the police station. She herself was in a state of panic, so she did not even inform her close relatives about what was happening to her. A criminal case was opened against Osipova for committing a terrorist act. According to the investigation, Ukrainian scammers convinced the woman that her account on "Gosuslugi" had been hacked and loans had been taken out in her name and allegedly sent money to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On May 25, 2024, the Vasileostrovsky District Court of St. Petersburg, at the request of the investigation, placed the woman in custody. On January 23, 2026, Judge Alexey Olmezzov sentenced Anna Osipova to 10 years in a general regime colony.
