Case Description
In occupied Luhansk, no later than September 2023, a 39-year-old local resident, Ukrainian citizen Anna Bazikal, was detained. She was accused of espionage and illegal acquisition and storage of explosives. According to the Russian investigation, in March and September 2023, Bazikalo, acting on behalf of the SBU, collected information about the deployment locations of Russian servicemen on the territory of the LPR through visual observation, photo and video recording. She transmitted the collected data to Ukrainian special services through an internet messenger. In addition, Bazikalo illegally acquired and stored at her home in Lugansk an explosive substance - smokeless gunpowder. The defendant in the case was placed in a pre-trial detention center for the duration of the investigation. Anna Bazikalo was found guilty by the Supreme Court of the Lugansk People's Republic no later than April 11, 2025, and sentenced to 16 years in a general regime correctional colony with a fine of 30 thousand. rubles.
